Notice of Patch Update for Version 1.08 for ELDEN RING™

We are distributing an update to improve the stability of gameplay and to adjust balance.

  • Added “Arena” function

  • New hairstyles for character creation and makeup selection

PvP Exclusive Balance Adjustments

*The adjustments in this section do not affect single-player or cooperative play.

  • Decreased the power of counterattacks with stabbing attacks.
  • Decreased guarding performance during attacks while holding Shield, which is possible with certain weapon types.
  • The following weapon types have been revised downward to reduce the ease of disrupting the enemy’s stance.
    • Straight Sword / Thrusting Sword / Heavy Thrusting Sword / Curved Sword / Halberd / Spear / Twinblade Sword / Katana
  • Decreased the ease of disrupting the enemy’s stance by Incantation “Bestial Sling”.
  • The power of the spell “Carian Slicer” has been revised downward.

Balance Changes

  • Increased the motion speed and travel distance of some attacks and decreased the time it takes to transition to various actions for the following weapon types.
    • Dagger / Ax / Hammer / Flail (two sword attack only)
  • Increased the motion speed of some attacks and decreased the time it takes to transition to various actions for the following weapon types.
    • Twinblade (Twin-handed attack only) / Reaper / Fist / Claw
  • Increased Colossal Sword’s rolling attack motion speed.
  • Increased Colossal Sword’s crouching attack motion speed.
  • Increased damage motion when a guard counter is triggered with an Ax weapon so that the hit enemy will be spooked to a greater degree.
  • Added a specification that makes it harder to be frightened by enemy attacks when attacking with a two-handed Hammer weapon.
  • Increased the ease of disrupting the enemy’s stance in attacks with Claw weapons.
  • Increased the range of poise increasing during the activation of Art ” Stamp (Upward Cut)” and “Stamp (Sweep)”.
  • Art “Transient Moonlight” has been revised upward for the ease of disrupting the enemy’s stance in the slashing portion of the art and downward for the ease of disrupting the enemy’s stance in the light wave portion of the art.
  • Decreased the motion speed of crouching attacks on Thrusting Sword and Heavy Thrusting Sword.
  • The damage motion of a jump attack with a double-handed Heavy Thrusting Sword when it hits an enemy has been revised downward.
  • Decreased he eased of disrupting the enemy’s stance in attacks other than Art with Hammers, Great Hammers, and some Colossal Weapons.
  • Art “Cragblade” ability to increase the ease of disrupting the enemy’s stance has been revised downward.
  • Hitbox duration of the frame portion of the Art “Flaming Strike” has been revised downward.
  • Decreased the ease of disrupting the enemy’s stance in the Art “Flame of the Redmanes”.
  • Increased the time it takes for the guard decision to occur when the Art “Shield Bash” is activated.
  • Decreased the ease of disrupting the enemy’s stance in the Art “Gravity Bolt”.

bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug that prevented consumable items from being replenished when a grace was selected and moved from the map.
  • Fixed an issue where stamina would be restored by switching to a crouching position during a dash.
  • Fixed a bug where Spell, Incantation, and item use inputs were not always accepted when guarding against enemy attacks.
  • Fixed a bug in which the physical attack attribute of some attacks of the weapon “Serpent-Hunter” was incorrect.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the second stage attack from occurring when the Incantation “Black Sword” was activated with the Sacred Seal of the left hand.
  • Fixed a bug that when the Incantation “Inescapable Frenzy” was invoked with the Sacred Seal in the left hand with two hands , the attack power of the weapon in the right hand was sometimes reflected in the damage.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause multiple damage determinations when certain Spells and Incantations are activated by jumping.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Art to be triggered by an incorrect combination of weapon and Art in certain procedures.

Online play requires the player to apply this update.
